FITTING ADVICE

FITTING ADVICE
In my experience fitting with a tape measure is only accurate on an A-D bust size up to a size 14, after this it is very rare that you get the exact fit, also when choosing a bra within different brands, styles, colours and fabrics can all add to a difference in size.
We are so passionate about fitting you for a bra because a correct fitting bra can stop all sorts of common bra problems.

In 10 years we are proud to say we have professionally fitted over 1,000,000 women for their bras.
With all of my being we believe there is a bra for every body

What is a great fitting bra?
We look for:-
• A bra that fits snugly around the back & sits even from front to back.
• Under wires must sit flush against your chest
• Your whole breast in the Cup with NO spillage or gapping
• You should be able to fit your finger under the straps
• Finding the correct shaped bra for you is just as important as the Fit.
• Quality materials not only look great but ensure optimum comfort and support and a longer lasting bra. It will also give you shape and you won’t feel the need to rip your bra off the first chance you get!
• The correct shape bra is very slimming.

Different shape bras are-
BALCONNETTE BRA- It sits in between a balcony bra (1/2 Cup) and a Full Cup Bra, it’s like a sweetheart cut neckline. It’s very popular for bigger busts; they give great shape, lift and will give you comfort and support. They make great boudoir lingerie as well.
FULL CUP BRA- Is generally your everyday bra or t-shirt bras, your whole breast is in the cup. It gives great support, lift and comfort for fuller cups.
PLUNGE BRA- Are triangular shaped bras and the underwire stops near the base of your breasts. They are great for those tops that have a plunging neckline. Larger cup size women wear V neck tops because it is most flattering on fuller chests.

What I would like you to do is; Whilst wearing your bra look in the mirror side on, are your breasts still going South? If so then you are not getting the lift you need from your bra.

Debra’s FAQ’s
Why is one breast bigger then the other?
The majority of women do have one side larger than the other, it just depends on how great the difference is.
However when you are getting fitted for a Bra you MUST always get fitted for the larger breast. Otherwise you will get spillage or the two boob look. If there is a big difference between the two then you can just get an insert for the smaller one to balance then out.

Why do underwires ALWAYS cut into me?
It is because it is the wrong shape. You can have a bra that fits however if the shape is wrong then the bra just wont work, it wont support you and it will be very uncomfortable.

I am having problems with rashes under my breasts?
Alot of women who get rashes under their breasts and the majority of the time it is due to an incorrect fit. If you are not getting lift from your bra then it will rub and as you mention above from heat and sweat it will cause a rash. It is because there is no air getting through. This is if the rash is directly under your breasts.

How often do I wash my bra?
You can wear your bra twice before washing it.
It is not necessary to wash your bra after you have worn it once.

How do I wash my bra?
We recommend giving it a GENTLE hand wash, no vigorous rubbing!
If you insist on putting it in a machine then ALWAYS use a wash bag or bra ball.
By looking after your bra your will maintain the shape so they remain comfortable, supportive and you will get great lift. Dry it flat out of direct sunlight.
Never put it in the clothes dryer.

How long should a bra last?
That really depends on how many bras you own and how you care for them, are you wearing them everyday or just on special occassions. A good quality bra that fits you well AND is looked after should last you at least six months, after this time if it has been worn regularly it will start to loose its firmness.

Your body shape does and will change so you should always be aware of that. If you are going up and down in weight then your bra size will change as well.

Is your bust spilling over or bulging under the cup?
The cups are too small, and you will need a larger cup size.

Are the straps digging into your shoulders and leaving indentations?
You may need to loosen the straps. Or, the cups may be too small, pulling the bra downward and creating tension in the straps, and you may need a larger cup size.

Are the straps falling off your shoulders?
Most likely, the band size is too large and you will need a smaller band. It’s also possible that the bra has lost its elasticity. Try tightening the straps.

Is the band riding up your back?
The band is either too large or needs to be tightened. Adjust the band so it’s not so loose or you may need a smaller band size.

Are the cups in your bra gapping?
If you’re not properly filling out the cup, then the cup size is too large and you will need a smaller size.

The under wire in your bra digging or poking you?
Then the cup size is probably too small and you will need a larger size or it’s the wrong bra for you

The wires keep coming out of my bra. Why?
Normally there are two causes:

You may be wearing the wrong size. Size fluctuations can be frequent, therefore it is important to be fitted at least once a year.
The bra has been machine washed or placed in a dryer causing pressure on a very delicate garment. This will cause buckling, stretching and pulling out of shape. A bra should be hand-washed or placed in a laundry bag when machine washed.

The enamel paint is coming off the rings, hooks or eyes. Why?
This often indicates that the bra has been subjected to excessive heat ie. A dryer. At no time should a bra be placed in a tumble dryer. A bra should be allowed to dry naturally in the shade.

The fabric, straps or elastic is perishing or discolouring. Why?
This usually indicates, especially on maternity bras, that the bra has been subjected to washes in bleach, excessive hot water/and or put in a dryer, resulting in deterioration of the fabric and/or elasticity of the straps. Care instructions should be followed to avoid this occurrence.
