DeBra’s Insights
What Is A Minimiser Bra?
When it comes to comfort and confidence, minimiser bras have earned their place as a staple in many Australian women’s wardrobes. For those with fuller busts, finding clothing that fits well – without pulling, gaping, or feeling restrictive – can be a daily challenge. That’s where the right minimiser bra can make all the difference. Designed to create a smoother, more balanced silhouette, they’re ideal for anyone who wants their clothes to fit more comfortably and look more flattering.
What Is A Minimiser Bra?
A minimiser bra gently redistributes breast tissue, pressing the bust slightly closer to the chest to reduce projection. The result? A naturally streamlined shape without flattening or compromising comfort.
These bras typically feature firm, non-stretch cups, wide straps, supportive bands, and often underwire for extra lift and control. Brands like Triumph and Glamorise are known for their engineering in this category, offering minimiser bras that combine sleek design with all-day comfort.
Some of our all-time favourites in this category include the beloved Embroidered Minimiser Underwired Bra and the consistently top-rated Lacy Minimiser Bra from Triumph – both expertly designed to smooth and support without sacrificing style.
The Minimiser Advantages
Can reduce the appearance of your bust by one to two cup sizes – no surgery required
Helps eliminate blouse gaping, especially in button-down shirts
Creates a more proportionate silhouette under fitted tops and dresses
Offers excellent support, often better than a regular everyday bra
Enhances confidence by making clothes fit and fall better
Want a minimiser that disappears under clothing? Look to Wacoal's Back Appeal Minimiser Bra – it’s smooth, supportive and perfect under workwear or occasion outfits.
Who Should Try A Minimiser Bra
Minimiser bras are especially useful for:
Women considering breast reduction surgery – this is a great non-invasive first step.
Anyone frustrated with tops or blouses pulling or gaping at the chest.
Shoppers who find themselves sizing up in shirts just to accommodate their bust, leaving the rest of the garment baggy or unflattering.
Fans of form-fitting clothing – think bodycon dresses or structured tops that highlight the silhouette. A minimiser can help fabric sit properly, without horizontal stretch lines across the bust.
A favourite for our customers who love a classic yet effective design is the Glamorise Magic Lift Minimizer Bra - it blends wirefree comfort, shaping, and subtle style in one.
Tips For Buying A Minimiser Bra
The first step in buying a minimiser bra is to check which influential brands have specialties in the minimiser area. These brands make their bras with high-quality fabric and accessories, meaning they're likelier to have tried and tested models. Spend some time in-store to try out different styles and sizes. Our expert fitters at DeBra's will help you choose your best fit and give you many style options. Overall, minimiser bras should be comfortable and not too loose or tight as this defeats the purpose, which could compress the breast and cause tissue damage. Your breasts should fit snugly in the cups, and the bands should not dig in or tear at the shoulder skin. As with all bras, you should feel comfortable, not manipulated, when wearing them.
Fit First: Why the Right Bra Can Minimise Without Compression
It’s a common misconception that a well-structured bra will add bulk — when in fact, the opposite is often true. A properly fitted bra can naturally minimise the appearance of the bust by lifting the breast tissue into a more supported and centred shape, which creates a smoother, more balanced silhouette. Many women are surprised to discover that simply wearing the correct size and style for their body can make clothes fit better — no flattening required. That’s why we always recommend starting with a professional fitting, whether in-store or via our virtual fitting service. It’s the most effective first step in achieving the look and comfort you’re after — and it might just change how you feel in your clothes altogether.

Best Strapless Bras for Every Bust Size
Finding the right strapless bra can be challenging when you need a fit that feels secure, stays in place, and suits your cup size. Whether you're dressing for a formal event or looking for a flexible option for summer outfits, pairing the right structure, band, and support features (hello, slip grip!) can make all the difference. Explore our strapless bra collection tailored to every shape and size.
How to choose the best strapless bra for your bust size
Let’s be honest, when it comes to strapless bras, one size definitely doesn’t fit all. The right bra should fit snugly around your rib cage, provide lift without straps, and remain stable as you move. Properly fitting strapless bras compensate for the lack of shoulder support using firm bands and structured cups.
Key points to consider:
Band sizing matters. The band is the foundation of any strapless bra. It should feel firm and supportive without digging in. Wider bands often provide extra support and help the bra stay put. For secure fit and a smooth silhouette, try the Sculptresse Dana Strapless Underwired Bra.
Cup size compatibility. Look for moulded or contoured cups that suit your shape—some styles offer softer shaping, others stronger structure.
Silicone strips or slip grip. These details help prevent sliding, especially when wearing fitted clothes or moving. Love a stay-put fit? The Elomi Smooth Strapless Bra features Stay4Sure grip for all-day confidence.
Supportive construction. Built-in bra stays, side boning and underwire all add stability. A combination of these features offers the best support and comfort across bust sizes.
Try different styles. Every body is unique. What works for one might not work for another. Make sure the bra fits well when standing, sitting and moving. Not sure which size or style to try? Book a free virtual or in store fitting with our expert team—we’ll help you find your best strapless match.
Wearing the correct strapless bra makes all the difference in comfort and confidence. If you often find yourself adjusting your bra, reassessing your band or cup size or choosing a different style may help.

Supporting Your Breasts Through Every...
While you may see the changes in your skin and feel the changes in your body as you go through life, you may not be as aware that your boobs are changing too. Not only in how they look, but the changes can also extend to how your boobs may feel. It's time to check in with your changing chest to understand the changes as you age better.
What Happens To Your Boobs As You Age
Your 20s
This is the decade where your boobs change a lot; size can fluctuate as your metabolism may slow down or your weight settles. As you put on or take off the kgs, so will your breasts lose or put on weight. If pregnancy is on the cards in your 20s, you also need to factor in breast enlargement as you gain weight and your body gets ready for lactation, using your mammary glands and changes to cup size. When your milk is no longer coming in, you might feel your boobs are bigger or smaller than before you got pregnant. Don't be shocked if your areolas darken or your nipples get bigger during pregnancy – these will go back to your 'normal' after you give birth. Check out our range of maternity bras and wire-free bras.
Your 30s
Many women in their 30s have children and will notice their boobs stretching because of putting on and losing weight. Weight gain associated with pregnancy results in stretch marks and drooping and is a natural consequence when you're expecting a baby. If you're finding your changing boobs challenging to adjust, remember how amazing your breasts are and what they've been through.
Your 40s
As you go through menopause, there are yet more changes your boobs will go through. At this age, your ovaries create less estrogen, and as a result, your breast tissue is replaced by fat as part of a process known as involution. Because fat is softer, your boobs may not feel as firm as they did in your 20s and 30s. And it's not always an equal occurrence throughout your boobs; while some of your breasts may become fatty, the adjacent tissue might feel like a lump in contrast. If these lumps are soft (like the side of your nose), it's likely fine, but if the lumps are harder (think the bridge of your nose), see your doc. Make sure you stay familiar with your boobs and their changes through frequent self-exams. And remember, these changes are all a very natural part of aging.
Lumpy Road
Another phenomenon that can happen in your 20s is fibrocystic change, which will appear as benign lumps in your boobs. As your menstrual cycle varies, so do your hormones, such as your estrogen levels. As a result, your chest may develop breast lumps – all normal and to be expected, so try not to worry. A sore lump that feels like other areas in that same breast is probably a fibrocystic change. Always trust your gut, but bear in mind that more often than not, cancerous lumps are not painful. You need to keep an eye out and ensure you screen for breast cancer which, if left unchecked, can spread through connective tissue. So, get yourself to your doc and seek medical advice if you notice significant changes to receive the correct diagnosis or treatment. Check out DeBra's range of sports bras because this is a good time to get more support during your exercise.
Less Dense
Even though breast ptosis is more likely after you lose a lot of weight or have had a pregnancy - losing firmness and fullness is a natural phenomenon and part of the ageing process. As you age, your breasts gradually become less glandular and fattier. Your collagen will begin to yield, resulting in less dense breasts, which means your boobs will sag – it's a fact of life. Mammograms come highly recommended after you hit 40. Regular bra fittings are also essential to keep your chest in check. Getting frequent fittings to update your bra as your breasts change is necessary.

How to Keep Strapless Bra from Fallin...
Wearing a strapless bra can feel like a balancing act, especially when you're adjusting it all day or worrying it might slip. Whether you’re dressing for a wedding, formal event, or a night out, the last thing you want is a bra that won’t stay put. The good news is, with the right fit and a few key features, your strapless bra can provide reliable support and comfort all day or night.
Explore strapless bras designed to stay in place here.
Reasons Why Your Strapless Bra Is Falling Down
There are a few common reasons why your strapless bra won’t stay up. Understanding them is the first step to finding a better fit.
Incorrect band size. The band provides most of the support in a strapless bra. If it’s too loose, it will slide down. Many women size up for comfort, but for strapless styles, this can cause the bra to lose grip. Not sure if you’re wearing the right size? Book a free virtual or in store fitting with one of our experts.
Worn out elastic or structure. Older bras may have lost their shape or stretch, which reduces their ability to stay snug and secure.
Not enough grip or support. Without the help of bra straps, your strapless bra relies on features like rubber lining, silicone edging, or a wider band to help it stay in place. Try styles like the Elomi Smooth Moulded Strapless Bra for firm support and silicone grip.
Improper fit with your outfit. A strapless bra should match the neckline and structure of your dress or top. If the bra is cut too high or too low, it can shift with movement.
It’s also important to remember that not all strapless bras are made the same. If yours is constantly slipping, it may simply not be the right style for your body shape.
How to Stop Your Strapless Bra from Falling Down
The best way to prevent your strapless bra from falling down is by choosing the right size and structure. Here’s how to make sure your bra stays put and feels secure:
Get fitted properly. When buying a strapless bra, make sure the bra band is snug and supportive. You may need to go a size smaller in the band to get the right fit without straps. Need help with sizing? Let us guide you.
Look for silicone or rubber lining. These details help create grip along the inside edge of the bra and reduce slipping. Many quality strapless bras include a slip grip feature that gently holds against the skin. We love the Wacoal Red Carpet Strapless Bra for its comfortable hold and full-bust support.
Choose a wider band for support. A wider band can distribute support better and create a more secure hold. It also tends to be more comfortable for longer wear. We recommend the Sculptresse Dana Strapless Bra for extra support and an uplifted fit.
Opt for built-in support features. Styles with moulded cups, side boning, or internal bra stays offer additional support and structure. The Panache 365 Smooth Moulded Strapless is a go to for all day support.
Match it to your outfit. Make sure the bra aligns with your strapless dresses or tops. A mismatch in shape can cause the bra to slide or roll. Some strapless bras also come with optional straps or convertible features, giving you the flexibility to adjust depending on the occasion.
Explore our strapless and convertible bra collection to find styles designed to stay in place and offer the support you need, even without straps.
Choosing the right strapless bra doesn’t have to be a challenge. With thoughtful features, correct sizing, and quality construction, your bra can stay comfortably in place all day, giving you the freedom to enjoy your outfit with complete confidence.

Benefits of Wearing Wireless Bra
There’s something undeniably freeing about slipping into a bra that’s soft, flexible, and supportive—without a single wire in sight. Our wireless bra collection is becoming a popular choice for women seeking comfort, ease of movement, and a more natural feel throughout the day. Whether you're relaxing at home, working long hours, or simply prefer a softer fit, wirefree bras can offer support and shaping without the rigid structure of an underwire. For many women, including those with larger busts, wirefree no longer means “no support” — in fact, many of our customers are making the switch for good.
Why Choose a Wireless Bra?
Wireless bras, also known as wire-free bras, are designed to support the breasts without the use of a traditional underwire. Instead, they rely on fabric structure, band design, and features like adjustable straps to offer lift and shaping. These bras offer a smooth, flexible fit that adapts to your body's natural shape, making them an excellent option for women who want to wear a bra without feeling restricted.
The benefits of wearing wireless bras include:
Greater comfort for all-day wear, especially for those with larger busts
Freedom of movement, ideal for travel, work, or lounging
A more natural breast shape without the structured lift of wired bras
Reduced pressure or irritation along the ribcage, often caused by underwired bras
Support and shaping through clever design, even without wires
Whether you're after something for everyday wear or just want a little extra ease on slower days, wirefree bras are a beautiful blend of softness and support.
Try the customer-favourite Elomi Downtime Non Wired Bralette or the ultra-comfortable Glamorise Magic Lift Full Figure Support Bra — both designed with fuller busts in mind.
Wire free bras are also a gentle option if you have sensitive skin, are breastfeeding, or recovering post-surgery. Check out our post-surgery or maternity-friendly bra collections that offer soft support without pressure.
Lift and Support Without the Wire
One of the biggest myths around wireless bras is that they simply cannot provide enough support and shaping, especially for larger busts. Not anymore!
Thanks to innovative design, today’s wirefree bras are engineered to support D+ cups with ease. Think wide, sturdy underbands, double-lined cups, reinforced side panels and smoothing backs—all the features you’d expect from a wired bra, just with a softer feel.
For supportive everyday wear, we love the Goddess Celeste Soft Cup Bra — a favourite for ultimate support and seamless coverage. Some even include moulded cups or light padding to give a smooth silhouette under clothes. Explore soft, shaped styles such as the Glamorise Magic Lift Seamless Support T Shirt Bra — ideal for a polished look and gentle fit.
And when it comes to movement? Sports bras are the champions of wireless support. Many are designed to hold everything in place during high-impact activity, all without the need for underwire. Discover wirefree options in our sports bra collection that offer serious support for any workout.
When to Wear a Wireless Bra
Choosing between wireless and underwired bras often comes down to personal preference and lifestyle. You might find yourself alternating between the two, depending on the day.
Consider a wireless bra if you:
Want something soft and flexible for everyday wear
Prefer a natural shape over structured lift
Experience discomfort or pressure from a wired bra
Are working from home or spending more time in relaxed outfits
Need a comfortable option during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or recovery
While underwire bras may still be your go-to for certain outfits or occasions, wireless bras can easily become a staple in your lingerie drawer. They are particularly useful for casual wear, sleepwear, and when you're looking for a perfect fit that adapts to your movements.

Styles of Bikini Tops and Bottoms
Bikinis come in an incredible variety of shapes, cuts, and coverage levels. Some styles are minimal, letting you soak up more sun, while others provide extra support and a secure, covered feel. The real fun is in mixing and matching tops and bottoms to suit your personal style, your body shape, and the type of beach or pool day you have planned.
To help you navigate the options, here’s a simple guide to the most popular bikini tops and bottoms—including tips on which shapes flatter different body types and how to create your ideal combination.
Popular styles of bikini tops
Different bikini tops provide varying levels of coverage, support, and shaping. Some are light and minimal for a carefree feel, while others focus on lift, structure, or all-day comfort.
Triangle top
The classic triangle bikini features two cups connected with thin, usually adjustable straps that tie at the neck and back. This style is perfect for sun lovers, offering minimal coverage and maximum freedom. Our fitters often recommend the O Keefe Bikini Set for those who enjoy a natural shape and a fresh, simple look.
Halter top
A halter bikini has straps that tie or fasten behind the neck, providing lift and creating a flattering line across the shoulders. This style works well for many body types and generally offers more support than a small triangle top. A great option is the Nomad Nights Underwired Halter Bikini Top, which gives shape and security while still feeling elegant.
Bandeau top
A strapless style that wraps around the bust, bandeaus are perfect for reducing tan lines and lounging in the sun. Some designs include underwire or side boning for extra support. Our fitters love the Spirit Bandeau Bikini Top for its stay-put comfort and clean, simple lines.
Underwire top
Underwire bikini tops offer structure and lift similar to a bra, making them ideal for fuller busts or anyone wanting extra support and definition. They pair beautifully with a range of bottoms and stay secure during swimming or water sports. Check out the Plain Sailing Underwired Plunge Bikini Top for a supportive, flattering fit.
Crop-style top
Tank-style or cropped bikini tops offer extra coverage and comfort, making them perfect for active beach or pool days. They’re a go-to for those who want support without feeling overly structured. A great pick is the Signature Gina Square Neck Bikini Top, which balances style and functionality.
Balconette or balconette-style tops
Balconette tops feature cups with a horizontal neckline that lifts and shapes the bust, creating a rounded, flattering silhouette. With underwire or structured padding, they provide support and definition, especially for fuller busts. Straps set wider apart help create balance and reduce pressure on the neck. Our fitters often suggest the Olivia Bikini Top for both lift and elegance.
Popular styles of bikini bottoms
Bikini bottom styles determine how much coverage you prefer, from cheeky to full coverage, while different cuts can enhance the look of your waist, hips, and legs.
Tie side bottoms
Tie-side bottoms feature adjustable straps at the hips, allowing you to customise the fit. They offer a playful, breezy feel and mix easily with different tops. Our fitters often recommend the Nomad Nights High Leg Bikini Brief for a flexible and fun look.
Cheeky bottoms
Cheeky bottoms use less fabric at the back, showing a little more skin. They help elongate the legs and create a modern, confident silhouette. Perfect for bright colours, bold patterns, or beach-inspired stripes, try the Lita Brazilian Bikini Brief for a fresh, stylish option.
High-waisted bottoms
High-waisted bikini bottoms provide extra coverage through the stomach and waist, helping to shape and define your midsection. They pair beautifully with almost any top—from bandeau to underwire—and are a favourite for those seeking a classic, flattering silhouette. A great choice is the Signature Midi Gathered Bikini Brief, with adjustable side ties that allow you to control the height and coverage.
Full coverage bottoms
These bottoms offer maximum coverage and stay secure in the water, making them ideal for comfort, modesty, or active swimming. Our fitters love the Plain Sailing Full Bikini Brief for reliability and ease of wear.
High cut bottoms
High-cut bikini bottoms sit higher on the hips, elongating the legs and creating a confident, flattering shape. They work well with both minimal and supportive tops. A popular option is the Plain Sailing High Leg Brief, perfect for clean lines and a modern silhouette.
Swim skirt
A swim skirt offers the coverage of a modest bottom with a stylish, skirted overlay. It’s perfect for women who want a little extra coverage around the hips and thighs without sacrificing movement or comfort. Our fitters often recommend pairing the Signature Skirted Pant with any bikini top for a flattering, versatile look that works for lounging, walking along the beach, or poolside fun.
How to choose the perfect bikini
Think about support and coverage
If you want a natural shape with less fabric, triangle tops or bandeau styles work well. If you like extra support, try halter necks, underwire tops or tank-style tops. Bottoms follow the same approach. Cheeky cuts offer minimal coverage, while high-waisted and full coverage styles keep you more covered.
Consider your body and personal style
Different body types suit different shapes, but the most important thing is choosing a style that makes you feel confident. High-waisted bottoms work nicely for shaping the waist. Halter tops highlight the shoulders. High cut bottoms lengthen the legs. A tankini or one-piece can also join the mix if you want something between a tank top and a classic bikini.
Mix and match
You do not need to buy matching sets. Many swimmers love mixing colours, prints and patterns to create their own perfect bikini. Striped tops with plain bottoms, floral prints with neutral shades or bold colours paired with simple cuts all bring personality to your swimwear.

Top 10 Must-Have Beach Accessories
Top 10 Must-Have Beach Accessories
A well-planned beach day feels effortless—but anyone who’s forgotten sunscreen, a towel, or a good beach bag knows how quickly things can go sideways. The right accessories turn a simple trip to the shore into hours of comfort, style, and fun. From sun protection to somewhere soft to sit, and from storage solutions to stylish cover-ups, the right gear makes all the difference.
Here are the top 10 must-have beach accessories to pack for your next beach trip.
1. A spacious beach bag
Every great beach day begins with a bag that can carry everything you need. Look for one large enough for towels, sunscreen, snacks, drinks, a hat, and your personal items. Our Crochet Slouch Beach Bag combines style and practicality, with durable straps and sand-resistant materials to make packing and carrying effortless.
2. A broad-spectrum sunscreen
Sun protection is the absolute cornerstone of a safe day at the beach. A high SPF broad-spectrum sunscreen shields your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. Apply it before you head to the shore and reapply every couple of hours, especially after swimming. A small-sized bottle is handy for the beach bag, but a full-sized bottle is best when you are planning an entire day in the sun.
3. A beach umbrella or beach cabana
Shade is key during peak sun hours. A beach umbrella or cabana gives room to relax, eat, and cool down. For extra style and sun protection, a wide-brimmed Sunray Beach Hat is a favourite, keeping your face and shoulders shaded while you enjoy the water.
4. A sand-resistant beach blanket
A beach blanket that shakes off sand is a game-changer. These blankets are designed to stay cool, dry quickly and resist moisture. Spreading out a sand-resistant blanket gives you more room to relax and keeps towels from picking up grains that end up everywhere. A beach mat works too, though blankets often pack down smaller.
5. A comfortable beach chair
A beach chair saves your back and lets you enjoy the waves in comfort. Pick one that is lightweight, easy to carry and sturdy in the sand. Some chairs include pockets for drinks or books, which makes them the perfect companion for a long lounging session. A comfortable chair can turn a simple beach afternoon into the ultimate beach day.
6. Portable cooler and dry bag
Keep drinks cold and valuables safe. A small insulated cooler keeps snacks fresh and water chilled, while a dry bag protects electronics and personal items from splashes and sand. Both are essential for stress-free beach organisation.
7. Overswim and cover-ups
When you’re heading from the beach to lunch, drinks, or a casual outing, a lightweight kaftan, dress, or matching set is perfect. These cover-ups feel like an outfit in themselves, offering style, coverage, and comfort. Our beachwear pieces are designed to layer easily over swimwear while looking effortlessly chic, so you can move seamlessly from sand to socialising without missing a beat.
8. Sarongs and wraps
A sarong is your quick, throw-on solution while you’re still enjoying the water. Wrap it around your waist for instant coverage, drape it as a dress, or use it as a lightweight towel between swims. For example, the Sunset Frayed Sarong is soft, quick-drying, and easy to style, making it ideal for relaxing by the pool or beach while still staying in the swim-ready zone.
9. The essentials
Even with all the gear, don’t forget the small things that make a big difference: a refillable water bottle, sunglasses, SPF lip balm, snacks, and a book or magazine. Being organised helps you relax and fully enjoy the day.
10. Elegant swimwear from DeBra’s
Of course, no beach day is complete without swimwear that fits beautifully and supports your body where it counts. Whether you prefer a one-piece, two-piece, or a tankini top, DeBra’s offers thoughtful designs for real bodies. Our fitters can help you find styles that lift, shape, and flatter your unique figure. Swimwear that fits well transforms your confidence from the first dip to the last, letting you enjoy every moment on the sand or in the water. Browse our swimwear collection here.

What is a Tankini?
A tankini holds a unique place in the swimwear world. It’s a longer swim top designed to offer the easy comfort and midsection coverage many women love, while still letting you choose the bikini bottoms that suit your shape and style. It gives you that one-piece confidence without feeling restricted, and still keeps the fun of mixing different cuts, colours and levels of support. At its heart, a tankini is simply a tank-style swim top—yet today’s range of silhouettes, straps, fabrics and support features means it has well and truly carved out its own corner in modern swimwear.
What exactly is a tankini?
A tankini takes the simple idea of a tank top and reimagines it for the water. The result is a comfortable swim top that feels secure both in and out of the ocean or pool. Tankini tops come in all sorts of silhouettes—fitted or more relaxed, structured or soft, longer through the torso or cut a little shorter—so you can choose the level of coverage and support that feels right for you. And because the top isn’t attached to your swim bottoms, you avoid that familiar one-piece wrestling match in the change room, making it far easier to slip on and off after a long beach day.
Unlike a bikini top, a tankini offers extra length through the torso, closing the gap that some women prefer to keep covered. And unlike a one-piece, it lets you pair a top that works beautifully for your bust shape with bottoms that suit your hips. This flexibility makes tankinis a favourite for many body types, including long torsos, narrow waists and anyone who prefers a more personalised fit.
Why do tankini styles suit so many different shapes
Tankinis offer far more freedom than many people realise. For women with an inverted-triangle shape, features like wide straps or adjustable shoulder straps can help balance broader shoulders. Those with narrower hips might opt for boyleg or swim-short styles to create a little more harmony through the lower body. And if you have a long torso, a tankini lets you enjoy extra length without the pulling or distortion that can happen in a traditional one-piece.
Support is another reason tankinis are so loved. Underwired tankini designs offer reliable structure for fuller busts—often right up to a K cup—while shelf-bra styles provide a softer, more relaxed feel. Ruched tankini tops add gentle texture across the tummy and help shape a smooth, balanced silhouette. Halter or shoulder-style tankinis also give lovely lift without adding complexity.
Tankinis are also a favourite during pregnancy, as the top skims comfortably over a growing bump without the squeeze of a one-piece. And for active water sports or aqua aerobics, a well-fitted tankini provides both freedom and security, especially when paired with firm, supportive bikini bottoms.
Exploring different tankini styles
The variety keeps expanding, which means there is something for almost every personal taste.
Bandeau tankini
A bandeau tankini features a straight neckline, making it a great choice for avoiding tan lines while enjoying the sun. Our fitters love the Aria Botticelli Tankini Top for its comfortable, stay-put design and sleek look on a variety of body types.
Ruched or draped tankini
Ruched fronts or draped panels provide a forgiving finish across the tummy, enhancing curves while giving a smooth, balanced silhouette. Many ruched tankinis also feature adjustable side ties so you can customise the length and coverage to suit your body. Our fitters often point to the Hues Raphael Underwire Tankini as a favourite for shaping and comfort.
Underwire tankini
Underwire tankinis give structured support, shaping the bust while keeping you secure in the water. Ideal for fuller cup sizes, our team often recommends the Beach Waves Underwired Twist Front Tankini for reliable lift and a fit similar to a well-loved everyday bra.
Wirefree tankini
Wirefree tankinis are soft, relaxed, and gentle on the bust, making them perfect for those who prefer comfort without compromising shape or support. A great option is the Eco Essentials Cross Front Multifit Singlet Top, which pairs ease of movement with a flattering fit.
Mastectomy-friendly tankini
Tankinis designed with pockets for breast forms or slightly higher cuts provide security and a flattering shape for women post-mastectomy, combining style with thoughtful support. Our fitters highlight the Salta Blouson Mastectomy Tankini for a fit that’s both practical and stylish.
Cup-sized tankini
Cup-sized tankinis offer precise support in familiar bra sizing, so you can find a fit that feels secure and tailored to your bust. Our fitters often recommend the Iris Balconette Tankini Top for a reliable, personalised fit that feels just right.
Multifit tankini
Multifit tankinis are designed with a looser structure, allowing them to comfortably suit a wide range of body shapes and bust sizes. A great option is the Hues Delacroix Cross Front Tankini Top, perfect for women who want flexibility without compromising comfort or style.
Loose-fitting tankini
Loose or swing-style tankinis skim over the body for relaxed, breezy coverage, making them a favourite for casual beach days, family swimming, or those who prefer a non-clingy fit. A great choice here is the Eco Essentials Blouson Multifit Swim Tankini for easygoing style and comfort.
Mix and match possibilities
One of the great things about tankinis is the freedom to mix and match tops and bottoms to suit your body and style. You can pair a matching brief with your favourite tankini top, or try a plain or printed bottom for a fresh, personalised look. Tankinis are especially handy if you’re a different size on top and bottom, giving you the flexibility to combine support where you need it with style where you want it. Our fitters often suggest pairing a supportive tankini top with the Separates Shaping Super High Waist Bikini Bottoms for extra coverage and shaping, or a classic Signature Classic Brief for a timeless, versatile option.
How much coverage do tankinis provide?
Tankini coverage varies by design, giving you the freedom to choose what feels right for your body and comfort. Some tops offer the coverage of a one-piece, sitting low enough on the hips to meet your bottoms, while others feature adjustable elements—like side ties or ruched panels—so you can customise the length and fit for a sportier or more active style, such as the Spirit Plunge Underwired Tankini Top.
For women seeking tummy control or a smoother, balanced silhouette, a longer top paired with a firm brief is often the perfect solution. Those who prefer something lighter and easier for swimming or active water sports may enjoy a shorter tankini top that still feels secure and comfortable.
Care tips to keep your tankini in good condition
Tankini proper care is fairly simple. Rinse the entire suit in cool water after swimming to remove salt, sand and chlorine. Avoid wringing the fabric, and let it dry flat out of direct sunlight. This helps preserve elasticity and keeps colours bright. Treat an underwire tankini the same way you would treat a supportive bra, being gentle with the wiring and stitching. Never machine wash!
Why do so many women choose tankinis
Tankinis are a favourite for women who want a flexible middle ground between coverage and freedom. They provide the confidence of a longer top while still giving the feel of a two-piece, adapting beautifully to different body shapes, ages, and activity levels. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or swimming laps, tankinis offer comfort, ease, and practicality—especially for women with long torsos or anyone who dislikes the pull of a full one-piece.
Part of their appeal lies in the freedom to choose a top that fits the bust perfectly while pairing it with bottoms that suit the hips. Swimwear rarely offers this kind of thoughtful, body-friendly fit, making tankinis a go-to option for many.

Why 8 Out of 10 Women Are Wearing the...
Did you know that around eight out of ten women are exercising in the wrong sports bra? It sounds unbelievable, yet it is one of the most common issues in women’s activewear. Many women put up with ill-fitting sports bras that dig into their shoulders, squeeze breast tissue in uncomfortable ways, or fail to give enough support during movement. The result is discomfort, breast pain, sagging over time, and even a reluctance to enjoy exercise.
Sports bras are designed for more than modesty—they reduce breast movement, support breast health, and protect delicate tissue from strain. Wearing the right sports bra can make the difference between painful workouts and pain-free performance.
Why Most Women End Up in the Wrong Sports Bra
1. Guessing Sizes Instead of Getting Fitted
Many women assume their sports bra size is the same as their everyday bra. But the band, straps, and cups work differently in a sports bra. Without a proper fitting, the risk of wearing the wrong size skyrockets. Book a virtual fitting or in-store fitting to ensure your size is correct.
2. Overlooking the Impact of Breast Movement
Breasts move in multiple directions during exercise, not just up and down. Without enough support, this breast bounce can stretch delicate breast tissue and contribute to long-term sagging. The wrong sports bra fails to reduce this bounce effectively, especially for women with larger breasts.
3. Old Bras Disguised as New
Many women hold onto sports bras far longer than they should. Elastic wears out, straps loosen, and cups lose shape. What once felt like a good fit quickly becomes an ill-fitting bra that no longer provides compression or lift.
How a Wrong-Fitting Sports Bra Affects You
Discomfort During Exercise
When the band rides up, the cups gap, or the straps dig into shoulders, it is a sign the sports bra is not doing its job. You may adjust constantly during a workout, losing focus and motivation.
Long-Term Breast Health
Unsupported breast tissue can lead to stretching of ligaments, causing sagging and even displacement over time. Regularly wearing the wrong size sports bra can make breast pain a normal part of exercise, which it should never be.
Reduced Performance
Breast bounce and discomfort can distract athletes and everyday exercisers alike. From runners to gym lovers, not having a well-fitting bra often means holding back effort, avoiding high-impact movements, or skipping workouts altogether.
The Signs of a Well-Fitting Sports Bra
A sports bra should feel snug but never restrictive. The band fits firmly around your ribcage without riding up. Straps sit comfortably on your shoulders without digging in or slipping off. Cups should fully enclose the breasts without spillage or gaping. You should feel supported, stable, and secure, with reduced breast bounce even in high-impact workouts.
Different workouts call for different levels of support, so choosing a bra that matches your activity is key:
Low-Impact Sports Bras: Ideal for gentle activities like yoga or stretching. A great option is the Katarina Low Intensity Non Wired Sports Bra.
Medium-Impact Sports Bras: Perfect for activities like cycling, dancing, or gym workouts. Try our Activate Non Padded Underwired Sports Bra.
High-Impact Sports Bras: Engineered for running, HIIT, or high-intensity workouts. Check out our bestselling Endurance Non Padded Wired Sports Bra.
How to Fix the Sports Bra Problem
Get Professionally Fitted
Just as you would not guess your shoe size for running shoes, guessing your bra size is not the way to go. A professional fitting ensures your band, cups, and straps work together to reduce breast bounce and protect breast tissue.
Choose the Right Style for Your Activity
Low-impact activities such as yoga may not require as much support as high-impact workouts like running. The right sports bra matches your level of movement.
If you tend to avoid sports bras because you don’t like wires, don’t worry—there are plenty of high-quality wirefree options, such as the Boundless Moulded Non Wired Sports Bra that still provide excellent support and minimise bounce, letting you move comfortably and confidently.
Replace Worn-Out Bras
Even the best-fitting sports bra loses its structure over time. If your bra has stretched straps, a loose band, or cups that have lost shape, it is time for a new sports bra.
Invest in Quality
Not all sports bras are created equal. A well-designed bra is worth the investment for the sake of breast health and workout confidence.

What Your Lingerie Colour Says About You
Lingerie has always been more than just an undergarment. It is a reflection of personality, mood, and self-expression. The colour you choose speaks volumes about how you feel, how you want to be seen, and what part of your character shines through. At DeBra’s, we believe lingerie should empower you and connect with your unique energy. Let’s explore what different lingerie colours reveal about you and the psychology behind them.
The Psychology of Lingerie Colours
Colour psychology is the study of how colours influence emotions, moods, and perceptions. When it comes to lingerie, the colour you choose can affect not only how others see you but also how you feel about yourself. From the elegance of black lingerie to the playful charm of pink lingerie, every shade carries a distinct message.
Black Lingerie: The Language of Elegance and Confidence
Black lingerie is timeless. It symbolises sophistication, strength, and elegance. Choosing black lingerie often suggests confidence and a sense of control. It is a classic option for women who want to feel empowered, polished, and a little mysterious. Try our Allure Full Cup Bra for a look that feels polished and empowering.
Red Lingerie: The Shade of Passion and Desire
Red lingerie is bold and unapologetic. It communicates desire, passion, and fiery confidence. Women who wear red lingerie often enjoy being noticed and aren’t afraid to embrace their sensual side. The colour red is strongly tied to romance and high energy, making it the go-to choice for special occasions. Make a statement with our Matilda Plunge Bra in Haute Red.
White Lingerie: Innocence and Simplicity
White lingerie reflects purity, softness, and simplicity. It is often associated with new beginnings and a gentle spirit. Choosing white lingerie suggests a personality that values honesty, freshness, and balance. It also works beautifully against many skin tones, giving a clean and delicate finish. Our Reflect Underwired Side Support Bra in White combines comfort with a soft finish.
Pink Lingerie: The Feminine Touch
Pink lingerie symbolises playfulness, tenderness, and femininity. Whether it’s a soft pastel pink or a vibrant hot pink, this colour often reflects romance, kindness, and a youthful spirit. Wearing pink lingerie can make you feel approachable, fun, and filled with warmth. Feel charming with the Idol Underwire Moulded Balcony Bra in Hot Pink.
Blue Lingerie: Calm Confidence
Blue lingerie brings a sense of calm and trust. It represents loyalty, wisdom, and stability. Lighter shades of blue lingerie create a soothing and dreamy effect, while darker blues add depth and confidence. If you are drawn to blue, you might value harmony and reassurance in your life. Try our Estel Full Cup Bra in Navy for a confident, relaxed vibe.
Nude Lingerie: Subtle Sophistication
Nude lingerie is understated yet powerful. It suggests practicality, sophistication, and quiet confidence. Women who prefer nude lingerie often appreciate natural beauty and elegance without overstatement. Nude tones also flatter every skin tone, making them versatile and timeless. The Magic Lift Full Figure Support Bra Blush is a great versatile option, flattering every skin tone.
Grey Lingerie: Modern Elegance
Grey lingerie offers a subtle, contemporary alternative to traditional neutrals. It suggests sophistication, calm confidence, and understated style. Perfect for those who want elegance without the intensity of black, our Downtime Non Wired Bralette Grey Marl blends ultimate comfort with modern charm.
Yellow Lingerie: Bright and Playful
Yellow lingerie radiates optimism, creativity, and energy. It suggests a playful spirit and a joyful personality. Wearing yellow lingerie can make you feel spontaneous, cheerful, and ready to embrace fun.
Purple Lingerie: Royalty and Mystery
Purple lingerie has long been linked to luxury, mystery, and sensuality. It suggests a woman who values individuality and isn’t afraid to stand out. Whether deep violet or soft lavender, purple lingerie exudes sophistication and allure.
Green Lingerie: Natural Balance
Green lingerie represents growth, balance, and a strong connection to nature. It suggests harmony and a grounded spirit. Women who choose green lingerie often feel refreshed, balanced, and confident in their authenticity. Feel grounded with our fitter favourite Elomi Smooth Moulded Non Padded Bra Deep Emerald.
Orange Lingerie: Vibrant Energy
Orange lingerie symbolises enthusiasm, creativity, and fun. It suggests a woman who is adventurous, lively, and open-minded. Choosing orange lingerie means embracing bold energy with a sense of humour and positivity.
Gold Lingerie: Luxury and Glamour
Gold lingerie radiates extravagance, sophistication, and celebration. It suggests a personality that enjoys standing out and embracing glamour. Wearing gold lingerie can make you feel like a queen, glowing with confidence and charm.
Choosing Lingerie Colours for Your Mood
The colour of your lingerie does not just reflect your personality; it can also enhance your mood. On days when you need confidence, black lingerie can ground you. What is Plus Size?
Fashion has always evolved, and so have the ways we celebrate different body shapes. One of the most important conversations in fashion today is around “plus size”—but really, it’s about recognising and embracing the variety of bodies that make up our world. Our Plus-Size Lingerie Collection is designed to fit, flatter, and support fuller figures, helping women feel confident, stylish, and comfortable.
Defining Plus Size
Rather than a rigid number, “plus size” refers to clothing thoughtfully crafted to suit curvier or fuller body shapes, giving space, comfort, and style where it’s needed most. At DeBra’s, our Plus-Size Lingerie Collection celebrates every curve, offering garments that enhance your natural shape and make you feel amazing.
It allows for garments to fit comfortably, flatter different body types, and celebrate body diversity rather than trying to squeeze everyone into one narrow definition of beauty.
The History of Plus-Size Fashion
The fashion industry has a complicated relationship with body image. For much of the 20th century, marketing strategies focused on slim silhouettes, leaving many women excluded. It wasn’t until trailblazers such as Lane Bryant, an early retailer offering extended sizes, that plus-size apparel began gaining visibility.
Later, designers like Christian Siriano brought plus-size fashion into the spotlight by showcasing models of different body types on runways. These moments challenged the industry to rethink what clothing sizes represent and who deserves to be seen in the fashion world—which, of course, is everyone.
Why Plus Size Matters
Plus size is more than just a label; it represents size inclusivity and a shift toward recognising that women come in all shapes and sizes. Plus-size garments aren’t about hiding bodies—they’re about celebrating them with clothing that is stylish, supportive, and designed for real life.
The fashion industry has slowly acknowledged that ignoring body diversity is not only outdated but also bad business. Many retailers now recognise the demand for extended sizes, opening doors for brands like DeBra’s, which design with fuller figures and comfort in mind. Our Plus-Size Bra Collection and Plus-Size Swimwear Collection are crafted to provide both style and confidence for every shape.
Clothing Sizes and Body Types
Every body is unique, and sizing can vary between brands. That’s why size inclusivity isn’t just about offering ‘larger’ sizes—it’s about designing clothing and lingerie that works with different body types.
For fuller-figured women, fit is everything. Garments must consider bust support, waist proportions, and fabric flexibility. Simply scaling up straight sizes isn’t enough; true plus-size fashion tailors pieces to enhance comfort, confidence, and style. Collections like our Plus-Size Shapewear Collection or Plus-Size Sportswear Collection demonstrate how thoughtful design can make a real difference in how clothing fits and feels.
Plus Size in Today’s Fashion World
The perception of plus-size fashion has evolved. What was once considered a niche is now mainstream. Larger sizes are proudly displayed in campaigns, models with diverse body shapes walk major runways, and many retailers showcase extended sizes as part of their standard offering.
Still, challenges remain. Marketing strategies often segregate plus-size women into a separate category rather than treating them as part of the broader fashion conversation. This division can make some feel excluded. The future of plus-size fashion lies in blending inclusivity seamlessly, where plus-size clothing is simply clothing, without the need for special labelling.
How DeBra’s Supports Plus-Size Women
At DeBra’s, we believe fashion should empower. Our focus on lingerie and supportive garments reflects the importance of comfort, style, and confidence for women of all body shapes. We understand that fuller figures deserve well-crafted, beautiful options that fit perfectly. That’s why we carefully curate our collection with brands like Artesands, Goddess, Glamorise, Sculptresse, and Elomi, which cater specifically to plus-size shapes with supportive, stylish designs.
We don’t see plus size as a limitation. Instead, we see it as an opportunity to celebrate body diversity and offer apparel that truly makes you feel good. Whether you’re searching for supportive bras, comfortable everyday garments, or stylish lingerie, DeBra’s is here to provide pieces designed with you in mind.
The Future of Size Inclusivity
The conversation around plus size will continue to evolve as more brands embrace body diversity. The goal is a fashion world where extended sizes are standard, where body types of all shapes are represented, and where size inclusivity is no longer a buzzword but a reality.
At DeBra’s, we are proud to champion plus-size women, offering garments that combine comfort with confidence. You deserve fashion that celebrates who you are, not just the number on a label. Book a Virtual Fitting or visit us in-store to find your perfect fit and discover pieces that make you feel supported, stylish, and confident.

What is a Balconette Bra?
A balconette bra, sometimes called a balcony bra, is one of the most elegant and versatile bra styles you can add to your lingerie drawer. With its unique cut, wide-set straps, and flattering shape, it provides a natural yet uplifted silhouette that works beautifully under a range of outfits. Whether you are after everyday wear or something a little more special, our Balconette Bra Collection is curated with styles designed to highlight your natural cleavage while still offering great support.
Understanding the Balconette Bra Style
The balconette bra gets its name from the way the cups create a “balcony” for your bust. Unlike a full cup bra that offers more coverage, a balconette is cut lower, with half cup or demi bra styling. This allows for less coverage across the top of the bust, creating a natural cleavage that feels open and flattering.
Balconette bras are known for their wide-set straps and square neckline effect, making them an excellent choice under wide necklines and outfits where you want your bra straps to sit discreetly. They give you a rounder shape without adding excessive bulk, and many women find the style creates a beautifully uplifted shape that feels feminine yet supportive.
Balconette Bra Fit
A balconette bra fits differently from other styles. The straps are placed wider apart, and the cups lift from below rather than fully enclosing the breast. This creates an uplifted, rounder shape while maintaining a natural look. Fit can vary between brands, but at DeBra’s, we guide you to find the style that complements your shape.
A balconette bra can provide natural lift and a subtle push-up effect, enhancing your cleavage and creating a fuller, more rounded shape. Our Envy Balconette Bra is perfect for special occasions or when you want to highlight your neckline. On the other hand, a simple demi or half-cup style, like the East End Padded Balcony Bra, is ideal for everyday wear, giving you great support while feeling light and comfortable.
Balconette Styles
Balconette bras come in a range of styles, from delicate lace designs to smooth everyday bras. A lace balconette is a classic choice when you want something sexy and feminine, while a smooth balconette bra disappears under clothing for a seamless look. Some balconette styles include subtle padding or a push-up feature for extra lift, while others are unlined for a softer, natural shape.
This versatility makes them a favourite bra style across all wardrobes. They work under dresses with square necklines, tops with wide straps, and even special occasion outfits where you want less coverage but still dependable support.
Why Choose a Balconette Bra
The balconette bra has become a popular choice because it strikes a balance between support, style, and sexiness. Here’s why many women love this bra style:
Flattering Fit
The lower cut gives less coverage but highlights natural cleavage, making it flattering for many shapes.
Great Support
Despite its open neckline, a balconette bra offers excellent support, especially when well fitted. The wide-set straps distribute weight comfortably, which is ideal for everyday wear.
Versatile Styling
From everyday wear to special occasions, the Brianna Padded Half Cup Bra adapts seamlessly, giving you comfort and style no matter the outfit.
Uplifted Shape
Balconette bras lift from below, creating a rounder, more uplifted shape without heavy padding—our Esme Balconette Bra is a go-to for that extra shaping and support.
Works with Wide Necklines
The square neckline and wide-set straps make it perfect for outfits where other bras may show.
Everyday Wear and Special Occasions
Balconette bras aren’t just for special occasions. A smooth style, like the 365 Smooth T Shirt Bra, provides a natural shape under t-shirts and workwear, while a balconette with a push-up effect, such as the Allure Demi Balconette Bra, adds a touch of drama for evenings out. Having multiple balconette styles in your lingerie collection allows you to choose the right fit and lift for any outfit.
Shop Balconette Bras at DeBra’s
At DeBra’s, we understand how important the right fit is. A balconette bra can completely transform how your clothes look and how confident you feel. That’s why we take the time to fit you properly, making sure the style you choose gives both comfort and a flattering shape.

Shapewear Swimwear: Sculpting Fabric ...
Swimwear has come a long way from being simply functional. Today, Shapewear Swimwear combines clever fabric technology with design details to create tummy control swimwear styles that flatter, sculpt and support in all the right places. At DeBra's, we know how powerful the right swimwear can be in boosting confidence, so let’s dive into how shaping swimwear actually works.
The Science Behind Shaping Swimwear Fabric
The magic of Tummy Control Swimwear is found in the fabric. Most shaping swimwear is crafted from blends of spandex and Lycra, fibres known for their strength, stretch and recovery. These fabrics are firm yet flexible, creating a gentle but effective compression around the body.
Powermesh Lining Fabric
One of the standout materials is powermesh lining fabric. This semi-sheer, lightweight fabric is designed to hold you in without feeling restrictive. Placed strategically in panels along the front panel, side panels or waistline, it creates a slimming effect while still allowing movement and comfort. Many of our Tummy Control Swimwear designs feature powermesh for extra shaping and comfort.
Fabric Technology for Sculpting and Support
Modern fabric technology doesn’t just slim, it sculpts. By targeting areas such as the tummy, hips and bust, shaping swimwear offers both structure and softness. The result is a flattering fit that smooths your curves without feeling like you are squeezed into a rigid garment.
Tummy Control Swimwear Styles That Work
Not all tummy control swimwear styles are created equal. The design of the swimsuit works hand-in-hand with the fabric to deliver that sculpted, supportive effect.
One Piece Swimsuit
A one-piece swimsuit with tummy control technology is the classic choice. With powermesh panels across the stomach it offers a slimming effect through the midsection. Designs with ruching or layered fabrics enhance this effect further, creating extra confidence when you step onto the beach or by the pool. A favourite among our customers is the Rock Solid Avra Underwired Shaping One Piece.
Tankini Tops and High-Waisted Bottoms
For versatility, tankini tops paired with high-waisted bottoms are excellent. Tankini tops often feature built-in bust support, while the high-waisted design shapes the tummy and hips. Together, they give you the freedom of a two-piece with the coverage and shaping benefits of a one-piece. Try our Eco Essentials High Waist Gathered Brief with a Tankini Top for a flattering fit that moves with you.
Full Coverage and Extra Support
For those seeking proper support, especially around the bust, full coverage swimwear with built-in underwire or shelf bras can make all the difference. These designs don’t just lift the bust – they also balance proportions and create a smooth, body sculpting finish. Our Hues Raphael Underwire Swimsuit is a go-to for confidence and comfort.
How Design Details Add to the Slimming Effect
Fabric is the hero of shaping swimwear, but design details elevate the result. Clever placement of seams, panels and prints can change the way your silhouette looks and feels.
Side Panels for Contouring
Side panels create the illusion of curves and lengthen the torso. By combining darker fabrics on the sides with lighter fabrics in the centre, designers achieve a subtle optical illusion that enhances the slimming effect.
Front Panel for Tummy Control
A reinforced front panel lined with powermesh or spandex provides targeted tummy control. This feature is particularly beneficial in one-piece swimsuits, where the compression smooths out the midsection seamlessly.
Bust Support for Confidence
Proper bust support is a game-changer. Features such as underwire, moulded cups or extra support linings give shaping swimwear structure. Not only does this provide a comfortable fit, but it also enhances body balance – an essential part of sculpting the overall silhouette.
Confidence Through Fabric Technology
At the heart of shaping swimwear lies confidence. When you slip into a swimsuit that smooths, supports and sculpts, the difference is not only physical but also emotional. Tummy control technology and fabric innovation have created designs that empower you to feel at ease, whether swimming, sunbaking or strolling along the sand. Our Shaping Swimwear Collection is designed to make every swimwear moment empowering.
Why Choose DeBra's for Shaping Swimwear
At DeBra's, we specialise in swimwear that makes you feel supported, comfortable and confident. Our range of tummy control swimwear styles, from one-piece swimsuits to tankini tops and high-waisted sets, is crafted with advanced fabric technology and thoughtful design. We understand the importance of a flattering fit, whether that means extra bust support, full coverage or sculpting side panels.
When you shop with us, you are not just buying swimwear. You are investing in pieces that bring out your natural curves while giving you the proper support you deserve. Confidence starts with feeling comfortable in your own skin, and the right shaping swimwear can make all the difference.
